A lip piercing costs $30 to $40 for the service in the US studio price lists we read, with jewelry extra, or $60 to $72 where starter jewelry is included. A lip piercing also needs a shorter post within a few weeks, so the real cost is higher than the fee.
Prices are as published in September 2026. We have not checked whether these studios meet the Association of Professional Piercers (APP) checklist, so they show how prices are quoted rather than being recommendations.

Phoenix prices the Ashley, Monroe, beauty mark, lip and medusa together at $35. Philadelphia lists labret, lip and philtrum together. Escondido lists Lip/Monroe at $65 and a vertical labret at $65, both with standard titanium jewelry. Amato’s $72 is a $40 service fee plus $32 for the jewelry.
Two or more piercings
Snake bites, spider bites and angel bites are two piercings. Two of the lists say what happens to the price:

Jewelry prices
At the fee-only studios the lists show a barbell from $26 in Oklahoma City, from $36 in Phoenix and a flat-back stud at $35 in Oakland. Amato’s jewelry share is $32 and Philadelphia’s starting jewelry is $32 to $50. The APP’s list of accepted materials for initial piercings includes implant-certified titanium (ASTM F-136). Why there is a second post
A new lip piercing swells, so it starts with a longer post. The APP says that once swelling has subsided, it is vital to replace the original, longer jewelry with a shorter post to avoid damage to the teeth and gums, and that a qualified piercer should do it. The jewelry figures are the starting prices from the lists above. The lists charged $10 for a jewelry change in Oakland and Philadelphia and $10 and up in Phoenix, while Amato says changes are free.

Cheap does not mean good value
The APP’s advice is not to act impulsively or be seduced by a low price, as you generally get what you pay for. Are the labret, Monroe and medusa priced the same?
Mostly. Phoenix prices the Ashley, Monroe, beauty mark, lip and medusa together at $35, Oakland and Oklahoma City list labret and lip prices, and Escondido lists Lip/Monroe and vertical labret both at $65 with jewelry. Ask your studio, since some price by placement.
How much do snake bites cost?
Snake bites are two piercings, and the lists we read price per piercing with a discount for the second. Oklahoma City takes $10 off each additional piercing, which makes two $30 lip piercings $50 for the service, and Philadelphia takes $10 off each additional piercing, which makes two $60 all-in piercings $110.
